The LES BOOCOCK MEMORIAL CHALLENGE SALVER will be awarded for the Best Flower Exhibit. Trophy to be held for one year. A plaque donated by the late DR W.L. Set Recipe – 4 Rocky Road Crunch Bars 125g Soft Butter 3 x 15ml tablespoons Golden Syrup 300g best quality Dark Chocolate 200g Rich Tea Biscuits (minimum 70% cocoa solids), 100g mini Marshmallows broken into pieces 2 teaspoons icing sugar for dusting Method Melt the butter, chocolate and golden syrup in a heavy-based saucepan. Scoop out about 125ml of this melted mixture and put to one side. Put the biscuits into a freezer bag and then bash them with a rolling pin. You are aiming for both crumbs and pieces of biscuits. Fold the biscuit pieces and crumbs into the melted chocolate mixture in the saucepan, and then add the marshmallows. Tip into a foil tray (24cm square); flatten as best you can with a spatula. Pour the reserved 125ml of melted chocolate mixture over the marshmallow mixture and smooth the top. Refrigerate for about 2 hours or overnight. Cut into 24 fingers and dust with icing sugar by pushing it gently through a tea strainer or small sieve.
330. Set recipe– Honey Cake 3oz Butter 4oz Clear Honey 3oz Sugar 8oz Self Raising Flour 2 Eggs, beaten 1 level teaspoon Baking Powder Method Set oven to 180C, 350F, gas mark 4. Grease and line a 7 inch round cake tin. Cream together the butter and sugar in a bowl. Add the eggs gradually and beat in the honey. Sift together the flour and baking powder and stir into the honey mixture. Transfer to the tin and bake for about 35 to 40 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Leave in the tin for about 10 minutes to cool then turn out onto a wire rack. 331. MEN ONLY. Cake of own choice, undecorated, not exceeding 7” diameter 332. Saucer Fruit Pie, shortcrust pastry 333. The G. COPLEY SILVER TROPHY was won outright by Danby Y.F.C in 1988. It was kindly re-donated for continued annual presentation to the Club gaining the highest number of points. Trophy to be held for one year. The ‘WEHL CUP’ will be awarded to the most outstanding single item from the Y.F.C displays. Trophy to be held for one year. Method Beat egg, stir in sugar, coconut and ground rice and mix well. Fill an egg cup with the mixture and shake out onto a greased baking sheet. Cook in a moderately hot oven – Fan oven 180C, other ovens 200C, 400F, gas mark 6, until sgolden brown.
